Sourdough Workshop: Sourdough 101
Join us for an engaging one-hour, hands-on introduction to sourdough bread making. In this workshop, participants will learn the basics of sourdough starter care, feeding, and maintenance, along with step-by-step guidance on mixing, folding, and shaping dough. Each participant will leave with an active sourdough starter and their own prepared dough to bake at home the next day. This workshop is perfect for anyone new to sourdough baking who wants to gain confidence and practical experience in a fun, welcoming environment.
Please bring a mixing bowl with a cover and a jar for your starter.
Spots are limited and only reserved once you have paid your entry fee (either by Venmo or in the farm store). Please no children due to limited spacing.

Rehydrate your dehydrated Starter ("Fred")
1. Rehydration

Fill a jar with 50g of warm water.

Add 10g of dried starter (Fred) flakes.

Stir well and let it sit for a few hours until dissolved
2. Initial Feeding

Once flakes are dissolved, add 30g of flour and mix well.

Leave it at room temp. for 8-24 hours until small bubbles appear.

If no bubbles appear, feed it 30g of flour and 30g water
3. Starter Activation

After seeing bubbles, feed it once or twice more with a 1:1 flour: water ratio.

Ensure it doubles in size
